GOD PROVIDES US WITH HOPE!

Friends, some time ago Craig Schindler told a story of a "little old woman," whom he credits with having moved him from deep despair to hope. The following words are what he wrote,

“While I was standing in a subway station in the centre of the city, tired, discouraged, and trying to figure out what to do, a little old wrinkled woman came over to me and asked if I was hungry.

Even before I could reply, she took her lunch from a brown bag and offered me half. I was moved. She not only helped my aching hunger, but lifted my spirit in an unforgettable way. I have never forgotten her -- the warmth of her face, the graciousness of her gift, the sparkle in her eyes.

We talked for more than an hour about her life. She had lost her husband and two sons in war. Only her daughter survived. But she was thankful and at peace she said. Finally, I asked her why she had offered me her lunch. She said simply, "Jesu ist mein Herr. Gott is gut." (“Jesus is my Lord. God is good”). She understood and lived the story of Jesus.”

Friends as I prepare this Post each day, I sincerely pray that its messages will present God's gift of hope to you who read what I am privileged to share, on behalf of the team at Discovering A BETTER LIFE MINISTRIES.

When we really stop to think about it, many times hope comes in unlikely packages of situations which are hard to understand.

For instance, some of you may find what I write in the Discovering A Better Life daily messages perplexing, as I put words such as freedom and servant, along-side living and dying.

Indeed, accepting grace and thereby feeling indebted is a difficult concept to grasp. And yes, the god you may have seen as far above you personally does feel a deep and intimate love for you that is manifested in your life every-day.

Friend, I believe the God of the Bible is a God who searches for human beings, in whom He has imprinted His image. The God of the Bible is a God of closeness, desiring everyone to come to Him through Jesus, His Son.

Amazingly, this God wants us to listen to His voice and accept His offer of a relationship with Him!

Even more amazing, is the fact, that if we are willing to accept God’s gracious offer to enter into an intimate relationship with Him, by clothing ourselves with Jesus Christ and live life as his children, we will be given the hope of eternal life!

The apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatian Church, wrote the following words: "You are all sons and daughters of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ" (Galatians 3:26-27).

Today, thousands of people are exploring religion and asking the deeper questions of life. They are searching for meaning and a better way.
