PATIENCE REQUIRES COURAGE!

Friend, in a world too often filled with bad news, the primary Mission of Discovering A BETTER LIFE MINISTRIES, is in sharing the Good News that God, by His grace has enabled men and women to enter into an intimate, personal relationship with Himself, through what Jesus Christ accomplished by His death, burial, and resurrection. This is a wonderful reality that we treasure and enjoy by trusting that it is true! (2 Corinthians 5:17).

PATIENCE REQUIRES COURAGE!

Friend, was there ever a time

in your life when you felt stuck?

Like right now, while you are socially isolated in your home, separated from families and loved ones and when your life seems to be bogged down, with no way to move forward, because of the restrictions brought upon us by COVID--19? What do we do?

Well, most of us respond with frustration and anger, whether it’s a car in the mud, a life put on hold or a relationship on the rocks. When we get frustrated, most of us reduce our options to one: force! So we jam our foot on the accelerator and lunge ahead with all our might and only succeed in digging a deeper hole.

However, there is another way to handle the obstacles in our lives, and that is to have the patience to keep trying something different.

Friend, patience involves courage … the courage to back off, to keep looking for a more creative solution to the problem. Patience means you can, and you will, endure whatever you must in order to accomplish your task. Patience means you will not allow any frustration to deprive you of reaching your goal.

One day, an assistant came to Thomas Edison, discouraged at his lack of progress on a research problem.

“How often have you tried?” asked Edison.

“At least two thousand times,” the assistant explained.

“Well, don’t give up now,” said Edison. “You have already found two thousand ways in which it cannot be done!”

Comte de Buffon said, “Never think that God’s delays are God’s denials. Hold on; hold fast; hold out. Patience is genius!”

Perhaps, even as you are reading what I am sharing with you today, you are facing some problems in your life. Perhaps they are big ones, such as COVID-19!

Well, I’m not going to tell you there are any easy answers. However, we do care about you and we want to encourage you to recognize God’s grace in your life and seek guidance from God, which He abundantly provides us in His inspired word, the Bible!

Friend, as you read your Bible, you will discover that those who have turned from depending on themselves have turned to depend on the guidance God provides through His Holy Spirit.

In the book of Galatians 5:22-23, the apostle Paul provides a comprehensive list of the fruit of the Spirit that will be demonstrated in the lives of men and women who are motivated by thanksgiving for God’s grace in his or her life.

This fruit of the Spirit,” of which Paul speaks, is the result of recognizing God’s mercy, and therefore presenting oneself a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1-2).

In a letter to his friend Timothy, the apostle Paul wrote: “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners---of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen”

(I Timothy 1:15-17).
